Mass Refinery was started by a group of best friends, each with a different career path and area of study, ranging from finance and real estate, to geology and botany, even mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering. Our goal is to provide a service to the private citizens of Massachusetts who wish to extract the essential nutrients and oils from their purchased or home grown organic material.
Not only does refining organic material to its essential compounds increase purity, shelf life and portability, it eliminates combustion. No tar, no carbon monoxide, and no carcinogens. Oils are vaporized, producing an atomized steam delivering direct, pure and clean chemical components to the bloodstrea.
Refining organic plant matter also decreases labor and storage costs, as it’s concentrate is extremely dense compared to the plant matter it is extracted from. It also reduces waste as the whole plant is used, thus saving time and money for individuals and corporations alike, decreasing harvest time by eliminating trimming of the final product.
Another benefit of using our service is the fact that low quality plant matter can produce high quality oil if desired. If low potency oil is desired, Mass Refinery is happy to accommodate. Infact, some customers go on to sell their non-essential oils that go on to be used for a variety of things, from lotions and balms to cooking oil, all the way to using it as a precursor in the development of pharmaceuticals.
Mass Refinery prides itself on using the only non-toxic solvent commercially available today, super-critical CO2. No volatile or petroleum derived solvents are used and they never will be, simply carbon dioxide, the gas we humans exhale. This not only makes Mass Refinery's process safe for you and your end consumer, but it also helps the environment. Instead of releasing toxic fumes from petroleum based solvents, any residual CO2 harmlessly leaves the medium where it is then recycled into oxygen by our beautiful New England ecosystem. In addition, Mass Refinery operates a closed loop system, meaning the CO2 is filtered and reused without leaving the system.
